Visiting airports is a part of travel and generally people expect airports to be luxurious and elegant so that they can comfortably spend a few hours before boarding their flights. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case with a couple of airports around the world. We can’t tag them as good or bad, but they are definitely weird and do not meet the expectations of the travelers. Let’s have a look at some of such airports:
1. Courchevel Airport
Located in France, the runway of this airport is one which would leave you speechless. The ups and downs you would experience while on the runway are exceptional. The runway rises uphill and then slides downhill in a scary manner.
2. Barra Airport
On a beach in Scotland, this airport couldn’t have a better location. When tides are low, the beach gets turned into an airport, otherwise people enjoy surfing.
3. Sao Paulo Airport
The Brazilian city of Sao Paulo wasn’t as populated decades ago when the airport was constructed,
but today, the population has increased multiple folds, bringing people too close to the airport.
This does pose a problem to the management.
4. Toncontin International Airport
Standing with pride, this airport in Honduras boasts its operational skills as for any plane,
it is difficult to take off with the mountains being on the backdrop.
Also, a short runway adds up to the difficulty of the pilots.
5. Tribhuvan International Airport
Located in Nepal, this airport could make you recall the last bus stand you had visited.
Low facilities and services make this airport one of the worst airports in the world.
6. Gibraltar International Airport
When the same road becomes the one for cars and planes,
it does become one of a sight and if you are excited to visiting one such airport then Gibraltar is the place.
The center road of the place has been chosen as the runway.
7. Agatti Airport
Situated in India, this airport has a small runway making it difficult for the pilots to take off as well
as land. Though the scene from the runway is beautiful, passengers
might get frightened looking at the size of the runway.
8. Gisborne Airport
New Zealand has always had a lot to offer to its travelers and when it comes to airports, it isn’t far behind.
Gisborne airport offers a scenic view of a railway passing by just in front of the eyes.
The railway line cuts the runway.
9. Don Mueang International Airport
This airport in Bangkok lies between two golf course grounds so if you are playing golf on either of
the two sides, watching a plane take off every now and then shouldn’t be a luxury.
10. Pyongyang Sunan International Airport
With only one gate for entry as well as exit, this airport in North Korea is one of the worst airports
when it comes to customer servicing. It becomes a chaotic scene when people are trying to get in and out from the same gate.
