Being a celebrity brings with it lots of glamour and popularity – these men and women who are adored by many are known mostly for their looks and talent. But when it comes to grit and intelligence, we don’t know much about them except what we see on the screen. Many of these popular celebs have passed out from top Ivy league schools – let’s take a look at who they are:
1. Julie Bowen
Julie Bowen was a part of the class of 1991 at Brown and majored in the course: Italian Renaissance Studies. For this purpose she spent a year in Florence.
2. John Krasinski
John Krasinski also passed out from an Ivy League school, after majoring in English. He was part of the class of 2001 at Brown and he spent his first semester teaching his subject in Costa Rica.
3. Emma Watson
Emma Watson majored in English at Brown and was part of the class of 2014. It was during this time that she acted her iconic role of Hermione in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”.
4. Maggie Gyllenhaal
Maggie Gyllenhaal majored in English at Columbia university and was part of the class of 1999. Uma Thurman’s father, Robert Thurman, was her religion professor at the time.
5. Julia Stiles
The actress, popularly known for her role in “10 Things I Hate About You”, majored in English at Columbia university and was part of the class of 2005. When she had entered the university she was already popular for her roles in movies such as “Save the Last Dance” and
“The Prince and Me”.
6. Mindy Kaling
Mindy Kalling majored in Playwriting at Darthmouth, and was part of the class of 2001. She studied classics as well as Latin and showed keen interest in making comic strips.
7. Tommy Lee Jones
Tommy Lee Jones graduated from Harvard in 1969 with a Bachelor’s degree in English. Through all the four years he was there, he had roomed with the same guy, which was none other than Al Gore.
8. Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman graduated from Harvard in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She assisted Aaron Sorkin in writing “The Social Network”, by recounting tales of her time at the university.
9. John Legend
John Legend graduated from Penn University in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in English. He graduated when he was just 20 years old. He also got an acceptance letter from Morehouse and Harvard but he chose to go to Penn.
10. Edward Norton
Edward Norton graduated from Yale University in the year 1991. He majored in History and his extracurricular activities at the Ivy League included competitive rowing.
